Kabola Amfora Malvazija
Tasting Notes: "The Kabola Malvazija undergoes a long maceration and aging period in traditional clay amphora for six to 7 months, followed by a year in 4000 litre oak barrels with another year in bottle before release. It is somewhat unique in Croatia with not many wineries making this style of wine. Glistening golden in colour, with an intense dried stone and tropical fruit nose set against a backdrop of herbal and flinty notes. Dry, medium full-bodied with a fleshy tannic grip on the palate and an attractive nutty bitterness on the long, lingering finish. Organic. A very compelling wine. Vinification: The wine produced in amphorae is the crown of Kabola's work. Prolonged maceration and fermentation (6 - 7 months) in amphorae without removing the marc and the lees. Aged for 1 year in large oak barrels and a further 1 year in the bottle.
